“I want brighter-looking eyes, but I am not sure whether to choose extensions or a lash lift.” Neither is universally better—the techniques, finished look and home care are simply different.
The short answer
Lash extensions add fibres to natural lashes for a designed length and density. A lash lift reshapes the curl and direction of your own lashes without false lashes.
Lash extensions
I DEAR designs around your natural lashes, eye shape and routine, with classic Japanese single-lash, YY/volume, retention-focused and manga-inspired styles.
- Water is fine after the final lash-SPA cleanse.
- Avoid high heat for three days.
- Clean the lash line daily and brush gently.
- Refills are recommended within three weeks.
Lash lift
A lash lift may suit downward-growing or untidy natural lashes when you do not want extensions.
- Avoid water and touching for 4–6 hours.
- Wait until the next day before mascara where possible.
- Avoid pools, sauna and steam rooms for about three days.
- Repeat every 6–8 weeks, with a minimum four-week interval.
How to choose
Choose extensions when you want added fibres, density or a particular style. Choose a lift when you like your natural lashes and mainly want to adjust their curl and direction.
